Pierre-Louis Rivest is a co-founder of the firm of architects that preceded Les Architectes Rivest-Jodoin & Associé. He became a partner in the firm upon his admission to the Ordre des Architectes du Québec in 1977.
Since 1975, he has participated in over 400 projects involving master plans, construction, expansion and renovation projects for institutional and commercial buildings, in several areas.
In addition to his professional activities, Pierre-Louis Rivest has been very active in the business community.
He has chaired both the Jeune Chambre and the Chambre de Commerce de Joliette, as well as the Chambre de Commerce Régionale de Lanaudière. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Chambre de Commerce du Québec for two (2) years. He was also Administrator of the Conseil Régional de Développement and the Sommet économique Permanent de Lanaudière for seven (7) years, as well as Vice-President of these agencies for three (3) years, and founding administrator of the SODEQ de Lanaudière. Recognized in this field, he was a member of the Commission dUrbanisme de la Ville de Joliette for eight (8) years, Vice-President of the Comité des Jumelages Municipaux of this city in 1985-1986, and founding administrator of the Maison de la Culture de Joliette.
His professional activities led him to the presidency of the Association des Architectes en Pratique Privée du Québec in 1988-89, where he acted as vice-president from 1986 to 1989. During this period, he also sat on the Committee of Canadian Architectural Councils (CCAC), comprising the presidents of the Canadian Provincial Associations of Architects. A member of the Comité Conjoint Permanent sur lArchitecture of the Québec Government's Ministère des Approvisionnements et Services from 1988 to 1994, he was also secretary-treasurer of Fonds dAssurance responsabilité professionnelle of the Ordre des Architectes du Québec from 1991 to 1993. In 1995, he participated in the managerial autonomy training program of the Association des Architectes en Pratique Privée du Québec, and has since held the positions of quality co-ordinator and manager of internal quality systems for our firm.
Pierre-Louis Rivest is a member of the Ordre des Architectes du Québec, the Association des Architectes en Pratique Privée du Québec and the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada.
